Advanced Practice Providers/Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Practice Providers are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. APP’s conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, write prescriptions, and perform procedures such as wound repair. The APP credential is issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and is a mark of professional accomplishment, indicating the achievement and maintenance of established levels of knowledge and clinical skills.

Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice nurses who are trained and licensed to provide high-quality health care services.

APP and NPs are referred to as “Advanced Practice Providers,” or APP. Emergency Medical Associates provide clinical services in the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Emergency Department under the supervision of physician staff.
